Merged documents, exported slides and scanned booklets often come without page numbers. Add them here: pick a corner or the center of the top or bottom margin, a format such as “Page 3 of 20”, a starting number, font and size, and which pages to number (skip a cover with “2-”).

Yes — set “First number”. Useful when the file is a chapter of a longer document.
Can I skip the cover page?
Enter 2- in “Number these pages”. Numbering still starts at the first number you set.
What about Roman numerals?
